The Purple Owl exists because the right words can change someoneโ€™s story โ€” and the most honest words come from lived experience.

If you are someone who:

  • Is/Has navigated depression, postpartum, grief or loss

  • Is/Has supported someone facing these challenges

  • Is/Has navigated addiction, rehab, relapse or recovery

We invite you to share your voice.

Help Us Write Cards That Truly Matter

The best greeting cards come from real experiences, not marketing copy. We believe the people who've lived through mental health struggles, addiction recovery, grief, and postpartum challenges know better than anyone what words actually help.

That's where you come in.

๐Ÿ’œ Why Your Voice Matters

If you've ever thought, "I wish there was a card that said..." or "What I really needed to hear was...", we want to know. Your lived experience can help us create cards that offer genuine support instead of empty platitudes.

โœจ How It Works

  1. Share your idea - Tell us what you'd want a card to say, or what would have meant something to you during a difficult time
  2. We listen - We read every submission with care and respect
  3. We create - The best ideas become real cards (with your permission)
  4. We credit you - Contributors can be recognized (anonymously or by name, your choice) and receive a free card as thanks

๐Ÿ“ Submit Your Card Message Idea

Email us at: co-creators@purpleowlcards.com

Please include:

  • Your name (or "anonymous" if you prefer)
  • The type of card (e.g., 30-day sobriety, grief support, postpartum, mental health)
  • The message or words you'd like to see
  • Why this message matters to you (optional, but helpful for context)
  • Permission for us to use your idea (we'll always ask before creating a card)

๐Ÿค What We're Looking For

Messages that are:

  • Honest - Real words, not clichรฉs
  • Compassionate - Judgment-free and validating
  • Specific - Acknowledges the actual struggle (not "everything happens for a reason")
  • Hopeful without being toxic - Supportive without minimizing pain
